Accidental Start

A string of accidents and coincidences have shaped my life -- and starting this blog spot is no different -- an accident. If by remote chance you are reading this, I am sure it was an accident too.

I was looking for Auroville Marathon timings that I ran yesterday (13 Feb 2011) and I hit a blog where Alex Barnett  described his opinion before his participation in 2010 Marathon. The title "One Man Band" caught my attention and thought why not I do the same whether or not I have something useful to say. The ingrained procrastinator in  me had for years avoided starting this and except for a few posting on the news.groups and comments to articles I stayed away from contributing to the blogosphere.

Today I am telecommuting to work while giving rest to my painful legs. Nothing specifically seems to be injured -- the calf muscles that were on the verge of cramping all through last 10 kilometers are fine but painful and so are the external sides of back of my knees (are they LCL -- lateral collateral ligaments?). Normal wear and tear after carrying 49 year old body for 42.195 kilometers in 3hrs 59minutes. I am thankful for this unforgettable experience. My wife, children and mother accompanied me to Auroville and my wife ran her first 10K. She completed it in 1hr 13minutes.

bye for now.....
